Nature and Yoga - Nature was was the first place of healing in my life. It’s where I used to escape when the world was too much as a teen. It’s where I found myself, my confidence, my voice, my power and my God. Being outside was my place of Serenity. And for a long time I made nature-healing my job, as I guided teens and young adults struggling with addiction and mental health in wilderness therapy. In 2003 I stated practicing yoga and this was the second place of healing and peace I found. And these things became the foundation of my spirituality, the foundation of who I am as a person, mother, and teacher.
Whatever the reasons bring you to the mat, know that there is healing there.
Motherhood was never intended to be a solo experience. Create Community. Find a Village.
When I got pregnant, prenatal yoga became a place of community. I often say that in my first pregnancy that I needed yoga for my body, and in my second pregnancy I need yoga for my mind. To be seen, held, and to clam my mind. Postpartum Yoga (Baby and me), was a grounding force that gave me strength, hope, and community.
Prenatal and Postpartum time is such a scared time for women, and I absolutely love helping women find their power, strength and community.
In a society that seems that we go from one thing to the next without stopping, I think we all need a little slow. Yoga Nidra is the deepest form of relaxation while maintaining consciousness. It allows your body and mind to complete relax and thus rejuvenate your heart and soul. In Yin Yoga we find our appropriate edge, find stillness, and hold for time so that we may work the Chinese Meridian Lines and restore the body to wellness.
We all come to the mat or the wilderness for different reasons, looking for different things. But at the end of the day I think we are all looking for something to take off the mat, out of the experience, that makes us more feel alive. To feel more Joy. To Connect more deeply. To be more Human. We all have a light in our souls and with the rush of going from one thing to the next, sometimes we forget what that light feels like. Yoga for Peace is here to help you Move, and Breathe and find Stillness. So that you may know, feel and hear your True Nature, the light that fills your soul. So that we might connect and make peace. I specialize in Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Prenatal Yoga, and Postnatal Yoga with an unique emphasis on bio-dynamics and deep relaxation. This yoga practice can help your body feel better and feed your soul.
